Korn is an American nu-metal band formed in 1993 in Bakersfield, California. Known for their heavy, down-tuned guitar sound, dark lyrical themes, and unique blend of metal, hip-hop, and alternative music, Korn played a key role in shaping the nu-metal genre in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1994, helped bring them mainstream success, followed by hits like Follow the Leader and Issues.
