Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Palm Desert, California. Founded by guitarist and vocalist Josh Homme, the band is known for its eclectic style, blending elements of hard rock, heavy metal, and alternative rock. QOTSA gained critical acclaim for their riff-heavy sound, innovative use of unconventional guitar tunings, and Homme's distinct, melodic vocals. They have released several successful albums, including "Songs for the Deaf" (2002) and "Like Clockwork" (2013), and are celebrated for their dynamic live performances and contributions to the evolution of modern rock music.
